廃盤になってプレミアの付いている CD だが，全て Youtube にアップされている・・・(^^♪
Mary Wells の Jubilee 時代の作品が収録された CD。

1.～ 12. が，１９６８年に "Servin' Up Some Soul" というタイトルでリリースされたアルバム。13. 14. は，Not on LP だった B 面曲。
15.～ 26. は，"Love & Tranquility" というタイトルで Jubilee からの２枚目のアルバムとしてリリースされる予定だった LP の収録曲。その内のいくつかはシングルでリリースされたが，その他は，この CD で初めて公表された。ジャケ写の右にあるように，"Come Together" というタイトルで作られたデザインも残っている。

プロデューサとしてクレジットされているのは，Womack 兄弟の末弟である Cecil Womack(1947-)。その他の兄弟も全て，コーラスで協力しているらしい。Friendly,Jr.(1941-), Curtis(1943-), Bobby(1944-), Harry(1945-1974)。特に Bobby Womack は，ギターも弾いているようだ。

Cecil Womack と Mary Wells は，Atlantic 時代の最後のシングル '(Hey You) Set My Soul On Fire'/'Coming Home'[1967, Atlantic 6469] でも共作しているが，そのときのクレジットは Mary Wells, Cecil Womack だった。Jubilee に移籍する前に結婚して，Mary Womack となったらしい。

'The Doctor' がヒット[Hot 100: 65, R&B Singles: 22] しているけれども，それが Hot 100 以内に入った最後の曲となった。この時点で Mary Wells(1943-1992) はまだ２０代半ばという若さ。

夫婦で共作している曲もなかなかの出来だが，Mary Wells と関係の深かった Beatles の 'Come Together' を始めとして 'Stag-O-Lee'，'Make Me Yours'，'Sunny'，'Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head' など，カバー曲のアレンジが面白い。

特に興味深いのが Peter, Paul & Mary で大ヒットした '500 Miles'。ストリングスをアレンジしたのは，Sam Cooke を担当したこともある Horace Ott。
全体の雰囲気が 'A Change Is Gonna Come' に似ているような・・・？
